With MBBS and MA Sociology degrees and extensive experience of instructional methods and institutional capacity building in Public Health and Community Development fields, Dr. Quraishi is having 21 years’ experience of working on International collaboration/ support programs, as Government manager and as consultant. His areas of interest/ service remained Project Management, HRD/ training and institutional development of the government departments and community groups. Being training specialist he has imparted training in the field of Public Health, Primary Health Care, Community Development, Community Mobilization, Basic Training of Trainers, Interpersonal Communication Skill, Rural Development, Community shared Management, Basic Management, Organizational Management, Health Management Information System, Immunization and Control of Diarrhoeal Diseases, etc. for the Managers, Mid level Managers, Field staff of Health, Rural Development Departments, WAPDA, Instructional Staff of Sindh Local Government & Rural Development Academy, Faculty of College Education and Medical University, students of Rural Sociology Department Sindh Agriculture University, community groups, office bearers of NGOs, CBOs and project specific Community Groups. Being the institutional specialist he has worked on institutional strengthening of Sindh Local Government & Rural Development Academy under Sindh Rural Water Supply Sanitation and Health Project SRWSSHP IDA credit 2228 PAK, Liaquat University of medical & Health Sciences Jamshoro and has actively facilitated, the process of community organization in UNICEF/ CIDA assisted Traditional Birth Attendants training program, in World Bank assisted SRWSSH project and in multi-donor assisted Left Bank Out-fall Drain (LBOD) project. Has worked as Institutional Need Assessment Specialist in Asian Development Bank assisted Sindh Rural Development Project T.A 3132 PAK.Has worked as Health Sector Specialist for Niche Area Project funded by European Commission. Designed and conducted a number of studies for situation analyses, project evaluation, base line data collection, disease surveillance and project process and impact evaluation. Having in past the experience of being government officer in health department and development consultant with different development projects he has recently completed an assignment as Dean Quality Enhancement Cell with Liaquat University of Medical & Health Sciences Jamshoro (Higher Education Commission assignment) and now working as Project Director for “Establishment of Anti Snake Venom/ Anti Rabies serology Laboratory in Sindh” a public sector initiative. He is co-author of National Guidelines on Snake Bite Management in Pakistan and has written three internationally and two nationally published papers on snake bite and is designated reviewer for an international journal “Wilderness and Medicine” UK.
